Abstract

This book is intended for anyone interested in changing roles within the information security community. While it will likely be of more interest to people trying to break into an entry level role, the book is written with the full understanding that you may break into any role, not ones just at the beginning of your career. Whether you’re just getting started as a security analyst or are becoming a penetration testing lead in charge of your team, you should find something of interest in this book. Since the information security field is highly fluid and technology changes so quickly, any direct advice given will quickly go out-of-date. Instead, we propose a different way of thinking about your career.
