Tier 1—Subject Matter Specialist
Abstract
A subject matter specialist is knowledgeable, skilled, and educated in some area. The area is not necessarily specific to information security but may instead be specific to the application of information security in a particular area or vice versa. A specialist might be highly knowledgeable in how information security is applied to a particular industry. For example, although the financial services, manufacturing, and health and medical fields are each quite different, each might use identical information security technologies but apply them in very different ways.
