Many women get excited about the idea of working with other successful women. They think about how nice it will be to have someone like them as a role model or even a mentor. They might even assume another woman in the office will be more empathetic, understanding the barriers that women face in the workplace. It isn’t always so. Talk with any group of women and you will find that almost every woman has a story to tell about a “queen bee” or “mean girl” they have had to navigate working with.
