Building a Bridge Across the Generations

So … what are we to make of all this? What are the keys to help us recruit, develop, and retain quality staff in each age group? We have some suggestions.
Key #1: One size does not fit all: Tailor your message
Across the generations a pattern emerged during our interviews: All age groups want respect. All age groups desire flexibility in work arrangements. However, this desire for respect and flexibility manifests itself in different ways from generation to generation.
We are not suggesting that each and every individual in a 5,000-employee company should have every single work arrangement or benefit he or she desires. We are recommending that leaders periodically “check ...
