CBT is a skill and like any new skill you shouldn’t be unduly surprised if it feels difficult in the early stages. Sometimes it’s not until we start to try to change something that we become aware just how entrenched it has become. If you find yourself struggling then you may find it helpful to ask yourself the following questions.
1 Are you targeting the right beliefs?
Sometimes we can end up trying to work on beliefs that are too vague or general to be helpful to us. Always aim to make your beliefs as specific as you can.
