THIS PROJECT EMULATES A LIGHTING EFFECT THAT you may have seen before. You may remember a popular TV show from the 1980s called Knight Rider that featured a talking car that had this type of lighting effect built into the front of its hood. A similar effect was used for the eye scanners of the Cylon Centurions in Battlestar Galactica. The LED scanner project comprises a line of eight LEDs, each of which illuminates sequentially in a way that makes it look as though a single LED scans from left to right and then right to left in a never-ending sequence.
