There are other ways to describe how it feels when you’re suddenly in pitch mode. As it happens, ‘Be still, my beating heart!’ is the only one that made it past my publisher. But trust me, I know what that feeling is like. Oh yes. Personally, I enjoy it – I like the challenge, it excites me, it gets me into competitive mode and suddenly I feel like I have a defining task to complete. But that’s just me.
