There are two levels of leadership communication, linked to the pyramid of meaning you saw in Chapter 3. At the top of the pyramid, your communication needs to concentrate on articulating your vision for the project; its meaning in the wider context of your organisation or society. At the bottom of the pyramid, you focus on more practical, day-to-day issues like planning and getting things done. These two forms of communication are, respectively, ‘Transformational’ and ‘Transactional’ communication.
