1.1 Introduction
The thought of professionally announcing—performing in front of a microphone or camera and being paid to do so—attracts many to a career in the radio, television, or cable industries. Now, with satellite radio, Internet podcasting, and various other forms of “broadcasting,” new announcing opportunities are being added that didn’t exist just a few years ago.
