7.3.1 Introduction

Audio test and measurement is a diverse technology because it covers a wide range of application areas, each with its own differing requirements. At one end of the scale, for example, an audio equipment designer in a development lab, or someone evaluating such equipment (say, within a broadcast organisation), will usually want to perform many detailed and complex measurements with a high degree of accuracy.
