Crouching in the dust at the side of the road in Kosovo, radio journalist Huw Williams was up against a deadline. He had to finish his report about the Serb withdrawal in time for the evening edition of Radio 1’s Newsbeat programme. He had interviews to edit, sound effects to mix in and he still hadn’t recorded most of his script.
