Bowl of Lemons

For this still life, we are going to block in shapes with masses of color instead of drawing the outline of the bowl of lemons. Starting with masses of color instead of a line drawing helps bring volume and color to fruition. It also creates more depth by adding an extra layer of paint. We will draw some lines over this layer once it is mostly dry.

• Stretched canvas, size 8" × 10"

• Flat bristle brush, size 14 or 16
