Now that you have an understanding of the commands to redistribute into OSPF and EIGRP, you next need to configure the router to redistribute into the edge (or interim) protocol. This edge protocol is often, but not exclusively, an IGP such as RIPv2, IGRP, and EIGRP in Cisco implementations. The process entails going into global configuration mode for the edge routing process and taking one of several approaches. You can redistribute a default route for the core AS (backbone) into the edge AS, or redistribute several static routes to the backbone into the edge system.
