SSDs, HDDs, and DVDs
The two primary types of long-term storage today are solid-state drives and hard-disk drives. SSDs are superior to the older-technology HDDs because they have no moving parts and can read and write data much faster. However, SSDs are much more expensive than HDDs and do not yet hold the capacity that HDDs can. For this reason, we are going to combine the best of both technologies in our PC. We’ll use an SSD to store our operating system and our most popular application files while we use an HDD to store our long-term large files such as games, videos, and other multimedia data.
