Going mobile or remote with an FTA or pay-for services satellite system is different from doing so at home only with regard to how it will be powered and the number of times it will have to be set up to accommodate new locations. All the necessary components are readily available for installation, and setup for the first time makes for a great weekend DIY project.
To take your FTA viewing mobile or to set up at remote locations temporarily or permanently involves giving some serious thought to frugality in scale, power utilization, and setup time. The three most probable scenarios for away-from-home viewing of FTA signals are as follows:
