Chapter 5 Picture This! Using Images on Your Website

Back in Chapter 2, we made a simple concession so that the website wouldn’t look so bland: we added the image of divers (using the element). This really needed to be done. First and foremost, the Web is a visual medium, and while great writing may keep a particular audience captivated, the saying “a picture tells a thousand words” is as true as it ever was. Unfortunately, we glossed over a discussion of all the different actions you can perform using images in our haste to have that first visual element on the page.
