Introduction

It is probably worth starting this chapter by saying that not all digital forensic investigators will want to be, or will have the skills and qualities to be digital forensic laboratory managers, and that not all digital forensic laboratory managers are necessarily the best investigators. It is almost inevitable that any investigator who takes on the role of manager will, over time, lose the currency of knowledge and level of skill that come from constant practice.
