Chapter 12 Summary

We have covered a lot of ground in this volume and it may not always have been clear how the various pieces fit together. So, in the interest of clarity, we will try to summarize here and make explicit connections that may not have been apparent up to this point.
In Chapter 1, we started with the goal, information assurance (IA). By definition, IA is the business of getting:
- The right information
- To the right individual
- At the right time
- With some “reasonable assurance” (confidence) that the information is timely, accurate, and reliable
