Today, the most creative, energetic forces addressing the planetary problems of poverty, social inequity, pollution, resource depletion, violence, and war are grassroots citizen movements. This new form of “trickle up” globalism is very different from the approaches of national leaders at G-7 and APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) summits, global business leaders at executive roundtables, or academics and pundits from think tanks and foundations at upscale vacation hideaways.
