10. Handling Links
Posts and pages are like fraternal twins. They have many similar traits, but they aren’t exact copies. Links are the red-headed stepchildren of the WordPress family. (No offense intended to you actual red-headed stepchildren out there; I’m sure you’re fantastic people.) Links bear very little relation to pages and posts. Sure, the interface for managing them is pretty much the same, but links serve a very different purpose from either posts or pages.
In this chapter, I define what links are, show you how to add them to your blog, and go over how to manage your collection of links. I also cover link categories and give you a few ideas on how to use links on your blog.
