As mentioned earlier, every day, ideas will walk out the actual or virtual door of your organization between the ears of employees, never to be taken advantage of by you. Some of them will be ordinary, some will be small but useful, some may be the seeds for breakthrough solutions. As long as they remain where they are—or move on to another organization—they are not helping you to achieve your tactical or strategic goals. And as long as your people keep their opinions to themselves about how to improve the ideas that do get a hearing, second-class suggestions will move forward.
