As the past has shown us, the question is always about the process. If we prepare a golden image from a solution (if it was in System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Virtual Machine Manager (VMM), or any other VM management solution), there is the need to set up and live a process that will simply make sure that the image will be updated frequently. If that does not happen, the golden image will somehow become a historical image and everybody will start complaining that it takes too long to wait for a new environment because of all the updates that need to be installed if the virtual machine has been set up.
