Information Security
Abstract
Challenges to information security have greatly increased as a result of the exposure of the accessibility of information systems over the Internet and the integration of systems within the enterprise. Security is about mitigation of risk. This chapter identifies key forms of loss that an enterprise can incur as a result of an unfortunate event or exposure, and it identifies many of the types of operational risks that can result in these losses. In addition, the chapter describes key security technologies to provide a general understanding of needed investments and controls.
