Installing Windows SharePoint Services 3.0

In order to create applications on top of Windows SharePoint Services or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, you first need to install SharePoint on your server. The applications we will be building will leverage Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) but will also work on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS). WSS and MOSS are built on the same essential platform, but MOSS has a number of additional features. When using SharePoint Designer 2007 to author applications on the SharePoint platform, these differences manifest themselves in the following ways:
