Key Points

  • By using the Data Source Library, you can create several data sources that you can use to build your application.

  • Lists, document libraries, and XML files are all auto-enumerated data sources, so they appear in the Data Source Library without your having to explicitly add them.

  • When you create a list data source based on an auto-enumerated list, you can subsequently modify that list data source.

  • Creating a data source that points to an RSS feed or SOAP service is as easy as typing the appropriate URL and parameters into the Data Source Properties dialog box.

  • Linked data sources can be created to connect to data sources that otherwise would have to exist in separate data views on your pages.
