Inserting Specific Fields from the Data Source Details Task Pane to Enable Inline Editing

Earlier in this chapter, you inserted a view of a list by dragging that list from the Folder List task pane directly onto the page. That technique is a very easy way to get a view on the page, but it often requires you to modify the fields that are displayed. An alternative way to get a data view onto the page is to first show the data that is in a specific data source and then select the fields that you want to insert. After doing so, you can still modify the columns displayed if you determine that a change needs to be made, but by selecting the fields first, you have greater control at the outset.
