6. Discovering Web Services
THIS CHAPTER INTRODUCES THE TOPIC of discovering Web services and the role of a service registry in a service-oriented architecture. We’ll discuss several alternatives to service registries, but focus on the Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) standard. In addition to describing how a UDDI registry is used, we’ll describe how to use Web Services Definition Language (WSDL) in a UDDI registry.
