B. Presentation and Style at a Glance
Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create “native” apps is a new concept for Windows, so these languages may be foreign to you; or you might even feel a bit rusty after a few years away from the Web. No matter the reason, this appendix is here to get you up to speed and comfortable with HTML and CSS, once again or for the first time. We’ll start by looking at HTML, in particular some new elements introduced with HTML5. Some of these enable us to create what’s called semantic markup, or markup which better reveals its purpose on the page, and thus is more maintainable.
