12 VALIDATING AND MANAGING REQUIREMENTS
INTRODUCTION
This chapter is concerned with two of the key elements of RE: validating the requirements that have been elicited and analysed, and managing the requirements in such a way that they can be traced from source to delivery. The approaches taken to validating and managing requirements vary depending upon the project context and organisational standards. The requirements validation approach taken may range from ‘light touch’ to formal sign-off; requirements management may be limited to tracking just critical requirements or may be applied to all baselined requirements.
