INTRODUCTION

Requirements definition is a key service within the BASF, irrespective of the lifecycle approach used or whether the focus is on business or IT requirements. Standard investigation techniques such as interviewing (Technique 21), observation (Technique 22) and workshops (Technique 67) support requirements elicitation and additional techniques are used to enhance this work. Elicited requirements are subject to analysis and definition, and these determine the quality of any resulting solutions.
