Facing Espionage While Traveling

Abstract

This chapter includes information on how vulnerable travelers and expatriates are while doing business in foreign countries. Unfortunately, in spite of high threats by state-sponsored intelligence agencies, business competitors and professional spies, many business travelers do not get education and awareness training on the threats. Instead travel security education and awareness continues to focus on physical threats from terrorism, criminal groups, unrest, weather and health issues. In spite of potentially high adverse business impact, business espionage threats get very little attention.
