Environmental practices in India have improved significantly in recent times. Used to a fairly lax regulatory environment for a long period of time, many Indian companies had not taken environmental management seriously in the past. Now, regulations have become more stringent. Moreover, many companies are looking at environmental management as a means to improve their image and to cut costs.
