One of the reasons for doing this book was to help CEOs and their Directors to navigate hard-to-foresee events that could cause unforeseen disruption. Aside from the credit crunch fueled by dodgy lending, monetary largesse, unwise innovations in securities, and so on, the obvious example was COVID-19, which appeared as a “weak signal” in the West in very early 2020.
