Maps in Business Intelligence
Few visual elements are capable of conveying quite as much information as a map. It follows that in certain circumstances a well thought-out map can be a tremendous enhancement to a dashboard or mobile BI report suite.
The advantages of adding a map to a dashboard are the following:
- Maps are an immediate and visual way to display information for countries and regions.
- Countries, regions, and states (or counties) are, for the most part, instantly recognizable your users. They do not need added text in the visualization. This frees up space on screen.
