The objective of this chapter is to help the new or prospective owner-manager to make a realistic, and hopefully objective, assessment of the viability of the proposed or new business venture. This chapter also relates to Unit A1 of NVQ Level 3 Business Planning, ‘Assess the potential of the proposed Business’, which in Element A1.1 is concerned with describing the business, how it will operate, and the goods and services it will be offering.
