Creating a business plan is a special situation in business writing. The business plan is a document that describes in detail the business concept in an entrepreneur’s mind:

  • An unsatisfied need on the part of potential customers that creates an opportunity for the entrepreneur
  • What the entrepreneur will offer to meet that need
  • Why and how the entrepreneur’s offering will draw customers away from the alternatives available to them
