Statistical Samplings
To acquire data, surveys are often used. Whether you conduct your survey by mail questionnaire, personal interview, telephone interview, or online, the next challenge is to form it into a report. In many cases, the purpose will be either to discover why people do certain things or to forecast what will happen. When writing your report, be sure to explain who was given the survey. If you are asking a Girl Scout troop with 10 members which cookie they preferred and why, you can administer the sample to each of them. However usually you will only obtain the opinions of a sample of your population. Then your challenge becomes to explain who was surveyed and why the sample was large enough to make the results accurate. ...
