Zen Revelations
Walking into the compound of Zen restaurant with Francis felt like stepping into another world from the hustle and bustle of Nairobi streets with the honking, smoking matatus, and young men and women shouting to rustle up business. A manicured garden, deeply set lighting, and water springs created a sophisticated and tranquil décor.
To enter, we passed through the Zen lounge, where legions of Nairobi’s beautiful people enjoyed martinis and sashimi. As we ate, the conversation drifted naturally to our work in Africa and our views on what that meant. I shared my experience in Rwanda with him.
