This chapter serves to draw conclusions based on a synthesis of the results reported in preceding chapters. The chapter summarizes the book’s findings, draws out the managerial implications, and sheds light on prospects for continued corporate reform in China. We also recognize the limitations of the study. This chapter therefore proposes future research possibilities for studying the fate of loss-making SOEs and considers the generalizability of the findings in view of the sample selection. Lastly, the chapter offers practical recommendations to Western and Chinese managers interested in improving their competitiveness in China’s transitional business world.
