When Darwin introduced the theory of evolution, a deep change occurred not only in science, but also in many unanticipated areas including ­Western ethical theory. Similarly, the development of computer ­science, along with other emerging and converging technologies, especially robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), is causing a profound change to ethical ­theories as well as to the critical decision-making process necessary to define the ethics and morals of killer robots, in the case of autonomous drones, ­missiles, and the more ubiquitous autonomous cars.
