1 : INTERFACE

3ds Max is a wonderfully intuitive rendering program – the interface is set up to facilitate rendering. When modelling or importing a model you will want to change a few settings for an effective render environment.

The default render engine for 3ds Max is Scanline Render but I prefer to use Mental Ray (MR) as it gives full GI and Final Gather, as well as a series of specialist materials such as Architecture and Design.

I will demonstrate this at the start up so I can use MR in the development of the visual and not just at the final render.

The Render Settings will open and you will note that the setting is Default ...
