Every camera manufacturer strives to ensure that your initial encounter with the camera is a happy one. To that end, the default camera settings are designed to make it as easy as possible to take a decent picture the first time you press the shutter button. However, the default settings don’t produce optimal results in every situation. You may be able to shoot an acceptable portrait, for example, but adjusting a few options can greatly improve that picture.
