It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Although compact digital cameras have improved over the years, they still suffer from relatively slow shot-to-shot speeds and small imaging sensors (which often can’t produce the quality of a photo shot with a DSLR). Those limitations have frustrated people who want to go the extra steps necessary to get great shots, but who don’t want to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on professional cameras.
