Applying the Capability Model

Competency and capability models are useful tools for individual and organizational planning because they go beyond the superficial what-people-do information conveyed in job descriptions and job analysis approaches, and convey the specific knowledge and skills individuals need to complete tasks in a way that links to organizational goals and strategies (Campion et al. 2011).
