4The Library Tool Tab

Capture One Pro lets you decide how to manage your image archives: within Capture One or using a separate database—or perhaps using a traditional folder structure. This chapter introduces the options available in the Library tool tab and looks at various ways of managing the mass of data that a modern digital photo workflow produces.

4.1Catalog, Session, or Both?

Catalogs and sessions are the primary methods of file organization offered by Capture One. You can combine the two within certain limits, but it usually makes more sense to use one or the other.
