Create iPhone Video

Shooting video with your iPhone is similar to shooting photographs. Just about all the photography principles covered in Chapters 2 and 3 apply to video as well.

However, since video isn't static like a photograph, there are additional issues to consider when shooting ... especially if you have an audience to consider. Movement and sound are very important elements of video, so special attention must be paid to these facets.

As with photographs, the iPhone's ability to shoot video allows you to capture special moments and to share them right away.

Remember the Rule of Thirds ... even when shooting video.

Composition

As I mentioned on the previous page, most of the rules of photo composition apply to video as well. The Rule of Thirds, focus and backgrounds are three particularly important aspects of composition. And by composing your videos well, you make them appear more professional and easier to watch. That's good for everyone, right?
