The Limits of Amateur Astrophotography
There are many practical realities that limit our ability to produce high-quality images, regardless of equipment or prowess.
On the previous page are three images, taken two years apart. These show how improved technique, equipment and considerable patience dramatically impact image quality, in the face of the challenges imposed by the subject matter and my location. It is worth realizing though, that there is an upper limit to any improvement.
