Growth of Carbon Nanotubes and Graphene Nanoribbon

2.1 Introduction

Carbon nanotube (CNT) and graphene nanoribbon (GNR) are two new materials made of carbon. Graphene is a two-dimensional structure where the carbon atoms are arranged in hexagonal array. The CNT is a rolled graphene sheet in the form of a cylinder. Both these materials have a great potential in making future very large-scale integration (VLSI) circuits due to their excellent properties.
