We have worked with hundreds of thousands of customers through the years. This story is one of my favorites.

A woman named Deb called my office for resume services. She was (and is) a nurse. I loved working with nurses to develop their resumes and grew to know so much about nursing that, after talking with a client, I could write an amazing resume in an hour.

I first start off by interviewing the client to find out about their history, what sets them apart, what sort of unique experiences they had, yada, yada, yada. And then I create their professional stories with a focus on what they want to do next.

Well, Deb had quite a unique story to tell. Over the past 15 years, she held 40 (give or take) contract roles in the nursing field. She had a 15-year career in what they call “bedside” nursing, which means she took care of patients in a hospital.

But, when the hospital she was working for started cutting back staff, she took a short-term contract job in a psychiatric hospital for children.

Her first assignment was working at an in-patient clinic with young people, mostly girls, with eating disorders that had gotten so bad that their parents had no other alternative than to admit them to a psychiatric hospital for treatment.

Deb described spoiled rich girls who threw up their steak dinners for fun (and flat bellies), and pre-teen girls whose hearts gave out because they stopped eating completely trying to attain waif-like/model-like figures. Complete with thigh ...
