Socializing in the Virtual World*

Krish was a brilliant student since his school days. However, when he was in high school, he was attracted to life’s pleasures and could not focus on his studies which resulted in poor academic performance. An important development took place in his life—a virtual monster called social networking sites. In 2006, Krish joined college. He was very popular with his friends. One day Madhu, one of his classmates, called up.

Madhu: Hey Krish! Why aren’t you joining Orkut?

Krish: What is it?
